Phoummala’s covered many changes in the world of IT and virtualization, so you won’t want to miss her 1:20pm keynote session “Letting Go of Fear and Taking Risks in an Ever-Changing IT Landscape” where she explains how even the most cutting edge IT techie can freeze in the headlights of enterprise production system changes and what you can do about it.

The vBrisket crew is also doing something very unique this year in their never ending quest to bring tasty BBQ and virtualization skills to the masses: This year they are launching a bus tour to VMworld 2016, and their launching this historic event out of the Windy City!

In many ways this is like the first flight, or mission to the moon, and I’m sure that the history books of my grandchildren will record this event as one of the key reasons world peace is eventually acheived. But even if it doesn’t achieve all of that, doubtful but possible, you certainly don’t want to miss your chance to see these brave pioneers of charcoal and hypervisors when they start this epic adventure!

Register here for this once in a lifetime history making event!

Save the Date! The Next Chicago VMUG Event is on July 12th!

The Chicago VMUG leaders are happy to announce that the next Chicago VMUG meeting is taking place on July 12th, 2016 at 500 W. Madison in Chicago. This is a great location for those of you who commute via Metra into the city, because 500 W Madison is home to the Ogilvie Transportation Center and it is across the street from one of the entrances to Union Station as well.

That’s great, but what about the sponsors?

We have two powerhouse sponsors for the July meeting! SaltStack, a leader in system management software for infrastructure and data centers, will kick things off followed by Rubrik, named a Gartner 2016 Cool Vendor in Storage Technologies. Both presentations will be on different aspects of automating your IT environments. Two cutting edge technology sponsors in a single VMUG meeting! Not only are these kind folks sponsoring our venue, but they will be providing lunch as well. You can’t beat that!

Or can you?

Open request for member presentations!

The only thing that can make a combo of great sponsors better is to compliment them with presentations from our own members! If you are interested in giving a 40 minute presentation please contact Chicago VMUG leader Patrick Benson with your idea at VMUG events really shine when we hear from from the members of our own community speaking right alongside our sponsors!

Registration will be available soon!

Expect to see a link for registration for this event in the next blog post, but for now be sure to reserve July 12th on your calendar for the next Chicago VMUG meeting! We look forward to seeing both old and new members there, and thank you to our sponsors SaltStack and Rubrik for making this event possible!
